Boosie Badazz Files $10M Lawsuit
Boosie Badazz says he’s pursuing legal action against two men he claims took hundreds of thousands of dollars while promising to help secure a presidential pardon.
The rapper recently disclosed that he spent approximately $600,000 in an effort to obtain clemency from President Donald Trump in connection with his federal gun case. According to Boosie, the money went to Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, two political operatives who have faced significant public criticism and controversy over the years, in hopes they could help present his case to the White House.
The effort ultimately produced no results, and Boosie has since been attempting to recover the funds. As speculation spread online about the situation, DJ Akademiks weighed in to clarify that Boosie was not attempting to purchase a pardon illegally.
“Boosie didn’t pay for a bribe,” Akademiks wrote. “He hired a lobbying group to try to help him obtain a pardon. They couldn’t legally promise a successful outcome. He probably won’t recover the entire $600,000, but if the retainer agreement that’s circulating is legitimate, he may have grounds to seek around $300,000 back.”
Boosie later responded by announcing plans to file a $10 million federal lawsuit against both Wohl and Burkman.
Meanwhile, a White House representative emphasized that neither Wohl nor Burkman has any affiliation with or endorsement from the administration. According to reporter Loren Lorosa, officials warned that involving either man in a clemency request could actually reduce an applicant’s chances of receiving favorable consideration.
The White House also confirmed that documents concerning Boosie, submitted by Maghan Blanco, had been received. However, officials stressed that acknowledging receipt of paperwork should not be interpreted as any indication that clemency will be granted. They further stated they never received any communication from Wohl or Burkman, do not support their activities, and advise anyone pursuing a pardon to avoid using them. The administration also indicated that President Trump reportedly considers people who profit from pardon-related services to be “detestable.”
