New ScHoolboy Q Album On The Way

ScHoolboy Q is officially gearing up for his next chapter. While Top Dawg Entertainment has remained busy with new releases, fans have been especially eager to hear what’s next from the Los Angeles rapper. Although he hasn’t been as consistently in the spotlight as he was during the era of projects like Oxymoron, Q has continued to earn respect by delivering strong, high-quality music.

Now, it looks like another album is almost ready. Taking to Instagram, ScHoolboy Q revealed that he’s putting the finishing touches on a new 12-track project titled THANK QUE. While he didn’t confirm an official release date, his post made it clear that new music is on the horizon.

“New cHapter. Wrapping up this 12 song album called ‘THANK QUE’ been working on tHis for a minute,” he wrote. “Yes I’m coming back.”

The announcement also arrives during a milestone year for one of his biggest releases. Blank Face LP recently reached its 10th anniversary, and Q shared that the album will finally receive a vinyl pressing. He also teased a celebratory hometown performance at the Palladium in Los Angeles.

“Blank face LP turns 10. Appreciate everybody.. fck it let’s do 1 show in LA at tHe palladium. fck it new vinyl 2,” he posted in a separate Instagram Story.

With a new album and anniversary show both on the way, fans are hoping the concert could feature surprise guests—or even the live debut of unreleased tracks. Q’s latest musical appearance came on Lance Skiiiwalker’s song “Keep It On,” where he teamed up with Pink Siifu.

He also spent part of last year performing alongside Kendrick Lamar during the Australian leg of the Grand National Tour. Even though the longtime collaborators haven’t released a song together in quite some time, listeners are optimistic that Kendrick could appear on THANK QUE. Many are also holding onto hope that Jay Rock and Ab-Soul could join Q and Kendrick for another Black Hippy reunion. While Kendrick has previously shut down the idea of a full Black Hippy album, their reunion at the Pop Out proved the chemistry is still there, leaving the door open for another collaboration in the future.
