Rick Ross is facing legal scrutiny following his recent arrest on battery charges, as separate domestic violence allegations made by his former partner, Jazzma Kendrick, continue to draw attention online.

The rapper was arrested earlier this week on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony battery by strangulation. After being released from custody, Ross denied allegations that he had committed domestic violence.

According to a court filing dated October 1 and reportedly obtained by Complex, Ross has waived his right to personally attend upcoming pre-trial hearings connected to the Florida battery case. The waiver allows his attorneys to appear in court and handle those proceedings on his behalf.

The filing does not affect the underlying charges or determine the outcome of the case. Instead, it means Ross is not currently required to be physically present for certain pre-trial conferences while his legal team represents him.

A stay-away order has also reportedly been issued, requiring Ross to have no contact with the alleged victim while the case remains pending.

The criminal proceedings come shortly after Kendrick publicly accused Ross of physically assaulting her. She shared an image showing an injury to her lip and posted messages encouraging others to leave relationships involving physical violence.

In one of her posts, Kendrick wrote that a man who puts his hands on a woman does not love her and warned that someone who becomes violent once could become violent again. She later thanked supporters who reached out to her following the allegations.

However, Kendrick has not been publicly confirmed as the alleged victim in Ross’ current criminal case. According to reports, the arrest affidavit identifies the alleged victim only by the initials “JK.” That similarity has led to speculation online, but authorities have not publicly established that Kendrick is the person referenced in the charging documents.

Ross has pleaded not guilty to the battery charges.

His arraignment is reportedly scheduled for October 2, with additional court proceedings expected to determine how the case moves forward.
